Our Sports

Upper Arlington Special Olympics offers year-round sports training and competition to student and adult athletes with intellectual disabilities. We are a community of athletes, parents and volunteers, and we are always glad to meet someone new.

Who can join

Athletes of any age can take part in practices. Athletes must be at least 8 years old to take part in competitions. Athletes and their families pay nothing.

Sports

  • Basketball Skills (White)
    Skills practice and team play, with a group for every level.
  • Basketball Skills Plus (Gold)
    Skills practice and team play, with a group for every level.
  • Basketball Adult (Black)
    Skills practice and team play, with a group for every level.
  • Bocce
    A calm, social ball game that anyone can learn. A great first sport.
  • Bowling
    Sunday evening bowling at Ten Pin Alley through the winter.
  • Cheerleading
    Cheer for our teams and perform with the squad.
  • Cornhole
    Toss, score, and have fun. Easy to learn and easy to love.
  • Pickleball
    A friendly weekly game at the Community Center. Easy to pick up, and a great first racquet sport.
  • Soccer Skills
    Soccer is for all athletes! Skills and team play each fall.
  • Soccer Team
    Soccer is for all athletes! Skills and team play each fall.
  • Swimming
    Swim practices and meets with our great coaches.
  • Track & Field
    Running, walking, and field events at the Jones Middle School track.
  • Walking Club
    Walk together at your own pace, indoors and out. No experience needed.
